Developers & Designers

The topic of this article exists outside of the Mope.io universe, meaning it pertains to the real world.

The Developers of Mope.io, also commonly referred to as Devs, are a group of people with priviliges such as Developer Mode, who collectively work behind the scenes to install new updates and fix problems/glitches.

The Designers are another group of people who create and design skins of animals and other entities, focusing more on aesthetic elements of Mope.io.

Addicting Games

Addicting Games, also abbreviated as AG, is a popular games website that acquired Mope.io on August 12, 2020. Their ownership was made public on September 10, 2020, with the acquisition becoming official on September 12. The Addicting Games website is located at addictinggames.com, with Mope.io being accessible here. The head of Addicting Games is Bill Kara, who is also considered the CEO of Mope.io.

Trivia

• Although much of the fanbase assumed the Addicting Games acquisition would result in changes to the development team, Stan confirmed that this would not happen.
• Addicting Games have confirmed they want to keep updating the game with new features, biomes and some account related features.
  • They have also confirmed they will upgrade the infrastructure and set up more tools to make mope a better experience for the community.
• When Addicting Games acquired mope.io, they not only retained the entire Mope Team but also hired new artists from the community to speed up the art and development process.

Designers

Makoshark12

Makoshark12, also known as Mako was accepted as a designer on June 3, 2020. According to KOA, Mako was not required to do trial-run when being hired. He is attributed to having the selected design of the upcoming Dolphin.

• He has a reddit account, and the art that he posted on there is what influenced KOA's decision to hire him.
• He likes sharks.
• Mako is Columbian, and the second member of the Mope.io Team to be from South America and the first to speak Spanish natively.

Lophiirus

Lophiirus, also known as Paradigm, was hired as a trial designer in September 2020 along with Rippy by participating in an art competitions. He is credited to creating some of the 2020 Halloween skins such as the Cacti Rat. Lophiirus has a reddit account and uses the official Discord server.

• He is an experienced artist.

Brandon C

Not much is known about Brandon C except that they work for AG and design the UI for the game.

Other

Lachney

Lachney's profile picture on Discord.

Lachney joined the Mope.io team in early 2021. Unlike other staff, he primarily handles Addicting Games content, although he also works in quality assurance and updates the game's socials. He is active on the Mope.io Official Discord, posting announcements to the announcements channel about the game updates and records bugs.

Former Developers and/or Designers have resigned from their position, and no longer are involved in changing features of the game. However, they may still be involved in the community, or moderators of Social Media.

Clickstan

Stan Tatarnykov, also referred to as Clickstan, is the creator of Mope.io, and formerly its owner. He lives in Toronto, Canada and has Ukrainian origins. Clickstan used to be the head developer of the game, but stepped down to an advisory position after selling it to Addicting Games on August 12, 2020. He stated that this is mostly due to him not having the same motivation and creativity as he had upon Mope.io's initial release. Clickstain retained his role as advisor until November 2020, when he fully resigned and was succeeded by KOA as lead developer.

• On the Mope.io Subreddit, his flair image is a black version of the Dragon.
• He was the only member of the developer/designer team until October 29, 2016, when Pike joined as a designer.
• He made a game called "Floppy Worm" and uploaded various "Runescape" gameplay videos on his YouTube channel.

Pike

Pike was the first designer of Mope.io, joining the team on October 29, 2016. He made the original animals' skins and flairs, upgrading from the original "No animal images" setting skins. Prior to his resignation on December 10, 2017, Pike was also a moderator of the official Subreddit. Pike has a Twitter account, a YouTube channel and a FANDOM account.

• Pike was the first official Mope.io designer. He was the second person to take part in behind-the-scenes aspects of Mope.io after Clickstan
• Pike is French.
• His image flair is black kraken on the Mope.io subreddit.
• He went on to create a new .io game called "leevz.io".

TheGiantSlug

His YouTube profile picture

TheGiantSlug, or Slug, became a designer circa March 2017. He resigned from his role on October 19, 2017, in pursuit of other designing jobs and due to conflict between him and KOA.

• He has a YouTube channel where he posts art challenges and gaming videos, along with former designer SirNathan.
• TheGiantSlug made the Classic Sea Monster skin.

SirNathan

SirNathan was the third designer for Mope.io. He was hired by Stan for a week before getting fired because he refused to work under KOA's instructions. SirNathan has a Reddit account and was a well-known artist on the official Subreddit. His work has been featured by many MopeTubers.

• He was one of the few designers featured in Teddy Bear mods, the once leading mope.io mod.
• SirNathan has a YouTube channel where he does BuildRoyale.io videos, along with former designer TheGiantSlug.

Sam.ple

Sam.ple was hired by Stan in February 2018. Sam.ple's former names were Err0r and DaRealPhoneix (- Real) He modernized the bird style for mope.io, and created the Phoenix. However, due to studies he resigned from designer status, but returned 8 months later. After a few months he made a rant on the Mope.io subreddit on January 6, 2019, and left permanently.

• Sam.ple still helps the Mope.io Team with designs whenever he has time.
• He is the first designer to resign and return to their rank afterwards.
• He has a YouTube channel, and has made some collaborations with other MopeTubers such as Fortish and Nation.
• Sam.ple lives in Belgium.

Shelby Minniti

Shelby was hired as a trial designer in June 2019 along with Luca Anker and Syed, but resigned after Luca Anker was chosen as an official designer. She made some of the Golden animals and the Demon Fish.

• She has a Bachelor's in game art.

Lapis Lazuli

Lapis Lazuli, also known as Lapis, Pidge Pedalo Pablo or AnnoyingPigeonDog, was hired as a trial designer in October 2019 along with Vix Star. He was promoted to official designer along with Vix Star on November 15. However, Lapis was removed from the team on December 18.

• He is 14 years old.
• Before he was hired as a trial designer, he created the Emerald Pterodactyl, Blue Pterodactyl, Prisma Toucan, and Black and Woolly Rhinos (the latter were done alongside Shirley).
• His Signature Animal is the Pigeon/White Dove, and the Lapis Lazuli Dragon.
• Lapis was also one well-known subreddit artist, and got hired nearly 1 year after joining the subreddit. He still frequently uses the Mope.io subreddit.
• He is a mix of Chinese and Polish.
• You can find him mostly on New York servers.
• He has a FANDOM account, and a reddit account, the latter of which is mostly used to post re-skins and other art.
• He has 10 alternate accounts on Discord and 20 alts on YouTube.

Feesh

Feesh, also known as Alez, became a Mope.io helper on June 27, 2020, being given designer status on August 10. Alez is known for creating Great Red which KOA added as Queen Scarlet. He retired on August 2, 2021, to focus more on his own personal projects.

• He is 16 years old as of November 4, 2020.
• Feesh also posts art on Reddit, his account being here.
• He claims to have been making Mope.io art from around the game's launch, with the help of most of the official designers at the time (Slug, Sam.ple, Shaun Goodwin).
• He is the creator of a "Mope Discord Rich Presence" extension that was rumored to come out but got delayed by anti-mod updates.

Advisory Separability

Advisory Separability, also called Advisory, Allivisory or Daniel, was hired as a trial designer in November 2019. On November 15, the Mope.io team decided he would be a "mope.io helper". Advisory is officially joined the designer team on November 1, 2020, and resigned some time later.

Trivia

• Because of his inability to get Skype he initially was not chosen, but later on he was able to get Skype to join the trial Designers.
• He was introduced to the developers by Luca Anker, and later on the designers decided to accept him.
• Advisory is the first Mope team member with a name that starts with the letter 'A'.
• His signature animal is the Alligator, which is why one of his given names is "Allivisory".
• Advisory Separability also has a reddit account that occasionally is active on the subredit.

Syed Galib

Syed Galib was one of the mope.io helpers. He was hired as a trial designer in June 2019 along with Luca Anker and Shelby. He created some of the "#GoldenAge" update animals and the Donkey rares. He is also a veteran player who joined Mope.io around one month after its initial release. Syed retired from his position circa June 2022.

• Syed typically plays Mope.io in New York and Miami servers.
• ON KOA's YouTube livestreams, Syed is given the chat moderator role.

Luca Anker

Luca Anker (many people know him as Physeter), was the full-time Mope.io designer, working alongside Shaun. He was hired as a trial designer in June 2019, and officially joined the designer team circa August 2019. Luca has resigned since August 18th, 2022. He designed most of the shop animals, as well as the Markhor.

Trivia

• He is Brazilian and 14 years old as of April 6, 2020
• Along with Shelby and Syed, he is considered one of what KOA calls "The Titans of Art", which are the trial designers chosen by Stan in the "designer application of 2019". KOA mentioned them in the description of the #GoldenAge Teaser
• Luca is called "L(S)uca" in the description of the "#GoldenAge" teaser as a joke because oddly enough, all current members of the Mope.io Team have names starting with the letter "S".
• He was also one well-known subreddit artist, and got hired nearly 1 year later he joined the subreddit.
• He also made the knight dragon and he was inspired by Shirley, and Advisory.

ToxicAsphyxiant

ToxicAsphyxiant, also known as Magic shork, was an artist that was promoted to the role of "Mope Helper" by KOA on February 26, 2021. On February 27, they were promoted to the designer team. They resignd from the team sometime in December 2022. Magic shork has a reddit account here and is present on the Mope.io Discord server.

• Magic Shork set the speedrun world record.
• They have said to share the same brain with Rippy and Shaun.
• They have a Mope.io art project called "Dreams&Nightmares", however it is not certain if it will be continued after they got into the team.

Vix Star

Vix Star, or Vix, was hired as a trial designer in October 2019 along with Lapis Lazuli. The Mope.io team promoted him to official designer along with Lapis on November 15. Vix resigned in 2020.

• He is 16 years old as of October 27 2020.
• He was not extremely well know on the subreddit and got hired after joining for 2 months.
• His in-game name is Vix.
• Vix usually plays on New York or Miami servers.

Rippy Graymhars

Rippy Graymhars, also known as Rippy or Ripped24, was accepted as a trial designer in September 2020 like Lophiirus, being promoted to a full-time designer a few months later.. Rippy also created a few 2020 Halloween skins such as Uncle Sam. Rippy has a reddit account, a discord account, and a FANDOM account.

Trivia

• They started to making Mope.io art around the same time as Feesh.
• Rippy also had ties to TheGiantSlug and got help from him.
• They had to wait a long time before they could push to become part of the team due to Feesh joining the team first.
• Rippy and Lophiirus are known to work as a tandem in mope.io art making.
• Rippy's art style specializes on High Tier Animals or artworks with plenty of details to spare.
• Their signature animal is an orange Kraken.

Shaun Goodwin

Shaun Goodwin was one of the official Mope.io designers. During November 2018, Shaun was hired by Stan as a trial designer for mope.io. He was promoted to a official Mope.io designer circa December 2018 and were laid off in late January 2024 by Addicting Games. They created and edited a majority of the Desert animals and was the first to create an animated animal (the Fennec Fox), aside from the Phoenix. Shaun has a Reddit, Discord, YouTube, and FANDOM account.

Trivia

• Shaun created two graphics known as the rock and hill textures for mope.io two years prior to being an official Mope.io designer.
• They created over half of the current rare animals as of October 2, 2019.
• Shaun has worked with Luca Anker, Sam.ple, and the Titans of Art, making them the first designer to officially work alongside other Mope.io designers/artists.
• Shaun created the most variants for a single animal; the Lion, Lioness and Lion Cub, and their respective Black and White variants, as well as the Black-Maned Lion.
• KOA claimed Shaun is the "King of Titans", which is in reference to the Titans of Art. The Titans of Art were the group of trial designers chosen by Stan. One of the trial designers happened to be Luca, one of the new designers.
• Shaun Goodwin is the creator and former owner of the official Discord server.
• King of Agario made an announcement memorializing Shaun's feats in the Official Mope.io Discord after his departure.

Sunfishy

Sunfishy was named a Beta tester by KOA on January 1, 2021. Sunfishy is an administrator on the Discord server, has a YouTube channel, a FANDOM Account and a reddit account. He resigned as Beta tester on November 16, 2021.

Trivia

• He claims he does not exist.
• Sunfishy's name is based on the Sunfish in Deeeep.io.
• A lot of his suggestions were added into the game, even before he became a tester. The most notable of these are the Blue Whale's shockwave, and the currently-removed Wild Mope.
• Sunfishy is the first formally-named Beta Tester (as opposed to past testers who were unofficially granted privileges).

Dreamer

Dreamer is the second official Beta tester, promoted by KOA on January 19, 2021. On February 26, he was given the "Mope Team" role in the Discord server. Dreamer is also an administrator of that server, has a closed YouTube channel, a FANDOM Account and a reddit account.

Trivia

• He is 16 years old and his main language is Russian, but he generally hangs out in the English community.
• He owns one of the wealthiest accounts in the entire game, due to the pandemic mode coin glitch of 2020. His current balance of mopecoins is close to 1 Million.
• He discovered the infamous God Mode glitch, and made the first god mode King Dragon. He holds a world record for the fastest solo King Dragon ever, achieved the first Bigfoot in the entire game (excluding other developers), and set the trend for many more useless yet cool things.

King Of Agario

King Of Agario, known more commonly as KOA, was the lead developer of Mope.io after Stan's departure from the game. KOA manages the official Mope.io YouTube channel, and is a moderator of the Subreddit. KOA added many influential but oftentimes controversial features such as the Eagle, and contributed vastly to many major updates such as the "#GoldenAge" update. On February 8 2024, KOA announced his farewell to the Mope.io community on the Official Mope.io Discord and no longer holds his staff role.

Trivia

• KOA originally left the subreddit in early 2018, but rejoined as a moderator on August 19, 2020.
• His flair on the subreddit used to be another version of the Red Dragon.
• He was the owner of MopeX, a mod pack on the Chrome web store for Mope.io. MopeX is currently not accessible.
• KOA's real name is Shahbaz Hussain and he is from Pakistan.
• KOA is often named as a scapegoat by the community when the game has problems.
