The Armadillo is a tier 4 Desert animal in Mope.io, and the equivalent of the Pig, Woodpecker, Seahorse, and Seal. It was introduced in the Desert Update on April 27, 2019.

Technical[]

Appearance[]

Current (S2)[]

The ultra high-definition Armadillo skin, which is the current default in-game skin as of February 1, 2022, has a spotted gray body with a horizontal darker gray streak down the middle of its body. The "Season 2" Armadillo design's head is also gray, with small pointed ears and large black eyes, and two small nostrils at the end of its snout.

Gold Trim[]

The Gold Trim Armadillo looks the same as the Classic Armadillo, but with gold plates and slightly higher eyes.

Classic Skin[]

It has a gray body with a face that looks like Dobby from the Harry Potter series; pointy with large eyes. The Armadillo's tail is the same colour as its face, and small and pointy. It has bony plates on its body that are a dark grey. When the Armadillo uses its ability, it'll tuck in its head and tail, and only the plates will be visible.

Strategy[]

  • The player can easily proceed to the next tier by farming Desert food sources.
    • The cactus pear and date are easy sources of XP that appear around the Desert, while mangoes provide even more XP but are a little riskier due to being near Venus Flytraps. To avoid Flytraps, the player should utilize the Armadillo's "Roll" ability to speed past them.
  • Another riskier way of leveling up is to use the speed boost from the "Roll" ability to bite the tails of unsuspecting predators, to leech XP from them.
    • Tiers tier 10 and 11 animals (Gobi Bear and Hyena; Vulture, respectively in the Desert) are good targets for this strategy as they usually will not care for Low Tier Animals such as the Armadillo.
    • With that being said, tail-biting a predator is no easy feat at the best of times. The player will need to be subtle enough to not draw attention to themselves but still have the predator's tail in line for biting.
  • If the player is chased by a predator, such as a Gazelle, they should use the Armadillo's Special Ability to escape and put some distance between them and the predator.
    • If the player’s ability is recharging, a safe and easy way to escape from a predator is to hide in a Hiding Hole. The Gazelle's "Jump High" ability can be extremely effective and lethal to the player, making the only viable way to counteract it is to either hide or continually stay ahead of the Gazelle player and attempt to level up.
