The Pelican is a tier 10 Ocean animal, and equivalent to the Swordfish, Bear, Tiger, Wolf, Hyena and Gobi Bear.
Technical[]
- Upgrades from the Pufferfish, Cheetah, Gorilla, Toucan, Snow Leopard or Rattlesnake at 60K XP.
- Upgrades to the Octopus, Crocodile, Lion, Falcon, Polar Bear or Vulture at 90K XP.
- It can climb on hills, and moves relatively fast on land for an ocean animal.
- When its ability is activated by pressing
W, the Pelican will scoop water into its mouth. When it goes into a hill or on land, or if it is scooping for about 5 seconds, it will begin to fly. Any animals that are in the scooped water will be flown up by the Pelican.- If
Wis pressed early whilst scooping water, the Pelican will throw water up and start flying early. PressingWagain will cause the Pelican to cease flying.

- The Pelican can consume any food source in the game except for clams, conches, cactus pears, dates, berries, cacti, aloevera, coconuts and large meat. Prey of the Pelican includes all animals that are within tier 4 to tier 9 (Sea-horse to Pufferfish).
- Predators of the Pelican are all animals from tier 11 to tier 17 (Octopus to Black Dragon).
Appearance[]
Pelican[]
The Pelican's body is mostly white, with the exception of black-tipped feathers and black tail feathers. It has a canary yellow beak with two small, a thin ovals as nostrils. It also has circular black eyes with white shine, and the tip of it's tail feathers and wings are dark gray. When scooping up water, the Pelican's wings will extend, and flap outwards.
Gold-Trimmed Pelican[]
The Gold-Trimmed Pelican is comparable to the regular Pelican in terms of appearance. However, the tips of its feathers, its beak and the color around its eyes are golden rather than black and yellow, respectively.
Strategy[]
You can use your ability as a benefit when hunting prey. Try to scoop up Pufferfish or Stingrays. If you succeed, drop them onto the land, where they will die of dehydration quickly, and will make an easy meal. If you cannot get prey in your beak, stun it and chase them. You are faster than your prey in most places, so you don’t need to worry about your prey’s passive abilities. If they are slow in water, use your “fly with prey” ability to put them in the ocean or against a river current. Likewise, if you see an ocean animal (preferably Stingrays or Pufferfish), use your ability on them (you can only go in a straight line when using your ability, so use it when you are close), and drop them out of the ocean.
Finally, if you are for some reason hunting in a lake, you might as well toss your prey into the lava and have the lava grill them. However, avoid straying too far from the lake, as Pelicans can lose water quickly. If you want, you can try and find high tier animals with low health and bomb them with water. There isn't a high chance you'll be able to kill them, but can at least wear their health down!
Watch out for predators, mainly King Crabs. They have similar capabilities as the Pelican, and pose the highest threat. If there is a predator that cannot climb hills, trees, or rocks; stay there. This works with most ocean predators, but Eagles can easily avoid this and will fly you out of the ocean. Pelicans are fast on land, so get to the nearest lake or ocean if possible. If you run out of water, use your ability to escape and get hydration quickly. Overall, it's best to avoid going near land as you can easily lose water fast.

Trivia[]
- It is the first seabird in Mope.io.
- The Pelican used to be extremely fast in Rivers and Lakes; even faster than sprinting Ducks in fact. However, this speed was reset in the #GoldenAge update.
- The Pelican is also glitched, as if its water projectiles land into a 1v1 arena, the water projectile will smash open and stay inside the arena.
- The Special Ability of the Pelican in the past was extremely powerful, being able to almost reduce the health of Apexes from just one splash.
