The Tsunami is one of the Natural Disasters in Mope.io, that occurs in the Ocean biome, and was released on December 23, 2019.
Technical[]
- Tsunamis are very rare, and have an unpredictable occurrence rate.
- They may appear anywhere within Ocean beaches.
- They are comparable to the waves produced by a Killer Whale's special ability, but are larger, stronger, and are able to manipulate inanimate objects.
- Black Dragons may be unaffected by tsunamis, per KOA's video. However, Dragons are slightly affected.
- Food from the ocean can be washed ashore as a result of Tsunamis.
Appearance[]
In the original teaser, the Tsunami looks like a bunch of huge Killer Whale waves, coming out of a circle. It spreads far from the ocean. However, in-game it has the appearance of a Killer Whale's wave, which is a blue crescent.
Strategy[]
If you're an ocean animal, the tsunami isn't too much of a worry, due to its lack of force. If you are in the middle of a tsunami, dive under it as soon as you can, since there is a possibility of being washed onto shore. If you're an Orca, you could use tsunamis to your advantage. Reinforce the waves with your own powerup, to wash Sharks on shore. Then eat them fast! You can also get risky with washing high tier animals onto shore, and watch them die and grab their meat. If you're lucky, before they die you level up to Blue Whale or Elephant, you can smack them and their XP is yours. However, this is not recommended as you can also get washed onto shore too!
If you are playing as a Land animal, push ocean animals that have been washed ashore further into land. If the victims of the Tsunami are prey, then it's an easy meal. However, the chances of killing predators in this way are slim, but it's worth a try - push the predator back to stop them from reaching water, but be wary of losing health. It is wiser to initially use your special ability to stun the animal and delay their return, thus contributing to water-loss. However if you cannot use it if it's recharging, or if the ability won't do any good, use your animal to physically push them back, or act as blockage.

Trivia[]
- It was revealed the same time as the Boa Constrictor, the Cobra, and the Giant Spider, around June 2017.
- Berry bushes and Bushes overlap the Tsunami.
- Only animals with a passive flying ability (such as the Dragon's) won't be affected by the Tsunami.
