MopeMap1

Map 1 in Mope.io. Prior to December 22, 2022, this map was used on all servers, with the only difference being the Arctic was in the north and the Desert was in the south.

The Minimap, or simply referred to as the Map is a helpful and useful navigation tool in Mope.io, that was initially added on October 15, 2016. It appears at the top right-hand corner of each players' screen, and shows features including biomes, water spots, the Volcano, and lakes. The current location that a player is in will also be represented as a white dot on the map. The "Season 2" update on February 1, 2022 saw changes to the Minimap due to the expansion of Timberland and the addition of the vertical rivers. On December 22, four other designs were added; now each server will have a different minimap design chosen at random.

Features[]

Current[]

Several features are noted on the minimap:

  • White dot – The player's current location, referred to as the player beacon.
  • Green dots – Hills
  • Large blue circles – Lakes[note 1] (they are lakes if in the Arctic and Land biome)
  • Large turquoise-blue circles – Oases (the Desert version of a Lake, only located in the Desert)
  • Large blue circles surrounded by green dots – Poison Lake[note 1] (generally the Poison Lake is surrounded by hills)
  • Red dots – Berry Bushes and Plankton Bushes (the latter are located in Land and Arctic, while the former is only in the Ocean).
  • Blue dots – Water Spots
  • Huge dark blue columns – The Ocean biome
  • Large brown circles – Mud
  • Small brown circles – Islands
  • Huge green area – the Land biome
  • Small white column – the Arctic
  • Small beige column – the Desert
  • Small light turquoise circles – Ice
  • Large orange circle – the Volcano, also known as the Lava biome.
  • Skinny dark blue lines – Rivers. There are four of them; two horizontal rivers on either side of the Volcano running through the Land biome, and two vertical rivers with one branching off from the northern river into the Arctic and ending at the map wall, and the other vertical river branching off from the southern river into the Desert and ending at that map wall.
  • Dark green area on either the northern or southern side of Land – Forest biome. It will be located either on the northern or eastern side of the Volcano.[note 1]

Deprecated[]

Some features previously present on the Minimap are no longer visible.

  • Small pale orange circles – location of Soccer Pumpkins. When moved, they move on the Minimap. They disappear when scored.
  • Vortexes – the location of a Tornado at all times. The color of the vortex on the map depends on the type of tornado.
  • Blue waves – Tsunami.
  • Red waves – Heatwave.
  • White clouds – Rainstorm or snowstorm.

Designs[]

As of December 22, 2022, there are five different minimap designs, as seen to the right. Each server will use one of the five designs chosen at random.

  • The first design, Map 1, is the oldest, and it was the general format that most server minimaps had prior to December 22, with a few minor alterations.[note 2] The Volcano is in the center, being surrounded by the Land biome. In the northern area of the map, there is the Desert, while the southern area holds the Arctic biome. To the east and west of the Land biome, there are two oceans making up the Ocean biome, connected by rivers.
  • Map 2 has the Desert in the north, and the Arctic biome in the south. However, the Arctic on Map 2 is larger and takes up space from the Land biome, which is on the eastern side of the map, next to the Ocean (which is only made up of one ocean) on the west.

Team Mode[]

Minimap-Team Mode Example
  • In Team Mode, Design 1 as seen above is used in all of the servers. The only difference being that the Forest biome is located on the northern area of Land rather than the southern area.
  • A unique feature on Team Mode minimaps is that Team Stones are shown as large white dots with black outlines. When the Team Stones are claimed by either the yellow, cyan or blue teams, the stone will turn the color of whichever team claimed it; unclaimed stones will be white.
    • For example, the map on the right has one purple Team Stone, one yellow Team Stone, two cyan Team Stones and 9 unclaimed stones.
  • Aside from Team Stones, the Team Mode minimap has the same features as the normal minimap.

Trivia[]

  • The player beacon disappears when the player is using a hiding spot.

Glitches[]

  • No symbols or dots showed up certain section of the Arctic during 2020 and 2021, as seen in the gallery above.
  • The player beacon currently functions inaccurately, as it sometimes appears to show the player as being in a different location to the one they are currently in. This bug seemed to be fixed on the May 27, 2022 "Mope 4.4.1 Performance & Optimization Build" update, but as of July 2022 is still an active glitch.

Footnotes[]

Notes[]

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2 The location varies for each server.
  2. The old design had the Desert in the south and the Arctic in the north, while the current design has the opposite.
